Can I claim my acupuncture and Chinese medicine session/consultation on my private health insurance?
Dr Kirk Wilson is a registered acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine practitioner. Given this, his services are recognised by all health funds in Australia. So, if you are covered for acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine, you will be able to claim back some of the expenses. At the conclusion of each session/consultation, Dr Wilson will supply you with a receipt which will contain his provider number for your respective Health Fund.
The amount of money you will be refunded will depend on your insurer and the type of cover. Most of the private Health Funds offer cover for acupuncture. Though, please aware that herbal medicine consultations may be covered, but the cost of the herbs will not.
If you intend to use acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine, it is advisable you contact your Health Fund and make enquiries as to which cover is best suited for you.
