What is involved in a session at Meridian Healing Centre?
Every visit to Meridian Healing Centre will start will a full Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. This will be done irrespective of you being an acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine patient.
After the consultation, acupuncture patients will be escorted to a treatment room where they will be instructed on how to prepare for their acupuncture session. In accordance with the best practices, Meridian healing Centre offers clean white towels and gowns for patients to maintain their modesty whilst receiving their acupuncture.
Before the acupuncture needles are inserted, Dr Wilson prefers to give each patient a back massage. This allows you to relax before receiving the needles. It will also help Dr Wilson to decide on whether you will be treated on your back or on the front of your body. The next step in the process is to administer the acupuncture needles. The acupuncture needles will remain in situ for between 20 to 25 minutes.
After the acupuncture needles are removed, most patients will receive cupping on their back. This is designed to help relax the back muscles. Since Meridian Healing Centre is located in the city, many patients present with muscular stiffness in the back. As a part of Dr Wilson’s holistic approach and his attention to detail he prefers to treat all presenting ailments.
Chinese Herbal Medicine patients also receive a full Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. The consultation for Chinese herbal medicine does tend to be longer than those for acupuncture. Once the consultation is completed, a diagnosis will be made and the subsequent Chinese herbal medicine prescription will be written. Then the herbs will be dispensed.
